Calling it
I am calling the block-out finished and will now move onto the high-poly phase. I removed the spikes and made some studs that would deflect an incoming blow instead of getting stuck on the shield itself.

I am going to leave this as is for today, and tomorrow I'll go around and ask for some more feedback, but over all I feel like it's getting there. Especially with pushing the shapes more outward etc.
I spent some time pushing the shapes out and making it feel less flat. In general, I was trying to refine the block out more and ask for feedback around me to see in what direction I should take the asset. I am also thinking of placing barbed wire on it, but I am not sure yet, so I'll leave it there. But in general, I found that I am struggling with the state of suck in the beginning of the project, so I need to make steps to gain confidence back and vision on it.
So I am a bit all over the place given everything that I have going on with my school and I am see that I am not really aligning anymore with my planning but I am going to try my best to figure out what I can do to at least catch up with my plan. As for now here is the general block out I got:
Figuring the gun part is actually the most interesting thing I have had to research, given how I wanted it to be functional but have it not take up that much space on the asset by adding in a revolver mechanism. So what I have right now is a pin with a spring that when you pull it back, it should create enough force to make the end part act as a hammer in a gun and then set off the round to shoot or any project tile for that matter. But I might do some more research into it to see if it would work or find the video where I got the idea from!
Concept?
Here is a quick concept of my main idea that I want to play around with. But I still have to further develop it, because there are some elements that aren't clear for myself yet.
Main idea
After some reference searching, I came down to the idea of taking a lantern shield and imagining it into the given setting. I probably need more references but at least I want to put a gun into a lantern shield!
