Hello everyone, I just finished with UV and I had worked on the high poly earlier in the day. I think its fair to say it wont be possible for me to able to submit it before the deadline sadly, but still I enjoyed this challenge quite a lot. I'd like to thank Sierra Division for holding contest like these where all of us can push ourselves in our particular field. Good luck to everyone participating, I was able to see a few submissions and you guys have killed it!
I was able to complete the low poly and I'm pretty happy with how its looking for now, need to sculpt in some details and get to texturing!
Also am uploading my reference sheet since I forgot to do that yesterday.
I decided to scrape the gun idea because of the design and practical issues that came with reloading, tried to figure out on how could it be implemented in better. The idea would take more design iterations to make it functional in real life, and that's why I decided to rather add in a flashlight that could be helpful in moonlit/dark environment. The grip under the bat was originally added in to help the user aim better with the gun but even without the gun it would be helpful in CQC where the blade is used like a bayonet, especially more efficient when paired with flashlight
The image on the top was the OG Idea and the second one is where I added in a gun to the bat, as I thought it would be cool and would come in handy during my hunts, but to be used as a last resort, because the bullets are worth everything in post apoc.

I gave it some thought, since it wasn’t specified what kind of calamity would hit Earth, I actually spent a good amount of time trying to figure out what kind of apocalypse it would be. Finally, I chose to go with the good old zombie apocalypse. Now since I live in India, I figured I should build something that I would actually use if the event were to happen tomorrow.
Instantly, the choice of weapon split into two categories: guns or melee weapons. Since guns aren’t exactly common around here, I figured even if I managed to find one, I’d have a hard time finding bullets in the wild. So, I scrapped that idea completely. No guns in my apocalypse loadout.
Melee weapon it is. But even then, there are so many options to pick from. Still, I knew right away what mine would be: a cricket bat. Not just any bat, though - a brutal, makeshift version, modified to thrive in a zombie-eliminating environment.
A long handle cricket bat, with a sword/blade jammed into the toe of the bat with a leather straps wrapped around it. with a reinforced spine ensuring durability and power.

Hello everyone!
Excited to be a part of this challenge! Although I found out about it a few weeks ago, today was the day I finally started making real progress. I've already spent some time ideating and narrowing down what I want to build.
I don’t have a ton of time left before the deadline, but that just makes it an exciting personal challenge to see if I can complete the model in time! I’ll be sharing both the progress I’ve made so far and the final result.
