Brass Incense Burner – Subhansa Singh

Update #21d agoLast edited 1d ago

I have decided to recreate this 1900s East-Asian incense burner.

The interesting thing here is that I couldn't find any stories regarding this specific incense burner making it mysterious and open to interpretation.

I have planned to make the antique symmetrical as the reference looks a little uneven which probably happened due to damage over time. And to make it a little more interesting I will add some gemstones which will make the final render more eye catching. It will definitely be a challenge to capture the details of this antique within the given 25,000 triangles limit but I am looking forward to completing this challenge. This will definitely be fun!

RnD and Reference Collection

Antiques carry history, they carry a story and are a reflection of the time they were crafted in. I believe each element in a game or movie plays a role in telling the story, so I wanted to start my project by understanding the story of the antique that I am going to make.

So I started with Google Arts and Crafts to get the actual dates, stories and good quality references.

I am leaning towards jewelry and clocks as of yet.

right now.
