HELLO guys! I'm working on the skull material. I'm trying to achieve a close result 😉
I still need to add a few darker cracks and spots.
HI GUYS!
FINALLY i've finished to retopo, clean up, reduce, uv layout and Bake the upper part of the skull and the Chamunda Yogin statuette. I want to play with different materials for this challenge 🙂 Sometimes i bite more than i can chew but i think i can finish everything...and also...a challenge it's not fun if i play it safe and stay in my comfort zone, so i wanted to push my limits, especially with sculpting! This is what i'm getting so far. I have to texture the skull and find some references and test for the skull material. Wish me luck 🙂
Hello guys! Still adding details! And also i've started the retopo and uv unwrapping. Still a lot to do 🙂
They little skulls look like skittles haha XD
Hello guys i'm still alive! I'm still scuplting the skull for further details and i've also started the retopo of some of the parts. Sorry for the absence.
More stuff is coming soon before the final post...guys the impostor syndrome is hard! Seeing so many great artists really inspires and scares me at the same time XD.
Hello fellow artists, this is my current WIP of the prop. 🙂
i've started to work on the main skull and the sculpture of Chamunda Yogin
this is the main inspiration of the decoration, even though i'm also working taking in consideration the way she is described in religion and mytholgy. Her appearence can be human or as a skeleton so i wanted to combine both visions 😄
I'm also working on Chamunda Yogini's model that is going to be present inside the skull as a decoration of the upper lid. 🙂.
I'm not used to sculpt, this is the first time after a long time but i'm super excited to test myself among so many great artists that inspire me to master myself!
Progress on the little skulls shapes, right now i'm working on the main skull 🙂
For this challenge I was inspired by the tradition of Nepalese and Tibetan people to carve and make ritual objects from real skulls of dead people. Skulls are meant to scare demons away and also face people with the idea of mortality. They are used for ritual purposes, mostly to honour the goddess Chamunda Yogini, goddess of destruction and rage that scares away malignant entities.
