Final submission : Prayer Pipe
I combined the pipe and prayer wheel to create this quite dump design. I enjoyed sculpting the dragon heads, although I could have done a better job with the fire design.
To sum it up, I started with a blockout in Maya, then moved on to ZBrush for sculpting and retopology in TopoGun. Baking, texturing, and rendering were done in Marmoset. Texturing in Marmoset was new to me, but I enjoyed some parts of it
some progress on the textures, When it comes to textures, my workflow is pretty basic. I pick a base material or color, then add darker tones to the crevices and lighter tones to the edges. then i add light color variation
today i started texturing after some consideration i wanted to try texturing in marmoset big benefit for me is i can see the final result right there
today I worked on lp and created quick uvs in rizomUV
final high poly
wrapping up the high poly
quick update
some progress on the block out
started sculpting the second dragon head
WIP Zbrush 1
After importing the model, I began sculpting the dragon head. Unfortunately, I'm not pleased with the "fire scales" and intend to make them simpler.
I started with rough blockout in Maya
Reference
After some research, I chose to combine a pipe and a praying wheel so you can smoke and pray at the same time. I really like the contrast of wood and metal and would like to incorporate in the dragon and fiery elements. As it's the first time doing some concepting, I hope the idea is not too disrespectful and more silly-looking.
