Unfortunately a lot happened this month that prevented me from giving this the time and attention it deserved. I will not be able to complete a submission, but I wish the rest of the challengers well and look forward to seeing the results!
Update 0 [Planning]: Naust is the Norse word for boathouse and these structures served as homes for Viking ships during the harsh winter. Given the importance of seafaring to their culture, a home for boats seemed like a fantastic subject matter for this challenge. To put a more interesting spin on it I've set this particular naust into a rocky cliff, reminiscent of classic pirate coves.
Starting this challenge late, I wanted to pick a scope that could rely heavily on re-use while still being an interesting concept. I'm aiming to build the structure using a modular kit inspired by Valheim's building set (another Viking nod 😉) and the cliffs can be tackled using 2-3 large rock assets with world-aligned detail textures. The hero asset of the scene will be the ship, which I'm imagining as a smaller vessel and not a full-size longship.
