Prologue
A Small Viking Village in a Valley
Nestled in a lush valley, surrounded by towering mountains and a meandering river, lies a small Viking village named Gudvangen. With only a handful of sturdy wooden houses, the community thrives on its close-knit bonds and shared responsibilities.
Village Layout
The village consists of eight houses, each constructed from timber and thatch, with smoke curling lazily from their chimneys. A central hall stands larger than the rest.A gathering place for feasts and council meetings. The houses are spaced closely, fostering a sense of unity among the villagers. Also a Church On a nearby cliff for prayers.
The People
The villagers are primarily fishermen and farmers. Each day, the fishermen set out in their longboats, casting nets into the lake’s deep waters, while the farmers tend to their plots of land, growing hearty crops like barley and rye. They work side by side, sharing their harvests and catches, creating a bountiful, self-sufficient community.
In addition to their trades, the people of Gudvangen are also trained warriors. They understand the importance of protecting their home and families, and each villager is taught the ways of combat from a young age. When the need arises, they gather in the meeting hall to strategize and prepare for any threats, be it from rival clans or wild beasts.
